Willington League

Willington Black Horse Tavern moved six points clear at the top of the table after they edged through their match at Willington Brewer's Droop by the odd point. Willington Black Horse Inn are in second place but have a match in hand, whilst Willington Lion and Unicorn are a further two points adrift but also have a match in hand.

Willington Brewer's Droop only managed to take one singles point when Vince Conaty won. The visiting Tavern ensured a victory when they had singles wins from Aynsley Rainbow, Laurie Norman, Peter Taylow and Dave Hawkins. The home side fought back to take the two doubles points when Jimmy Fleming with Jason Martin and Billy Wragg with Vince Conaty won.

Crook League

Crook Travellers Rest B grabbed the Championship by a single point after they overhauled the long time leaders, Crook Belle Vue by a single point. The two contenders went into the final game with Belle Vue a point ahead but the Travellers beat their hosts at Crook Olde Horse Shoe by three points, whilst the Club could only edge through by one point at Crook Coach and Horses A.

The Second Division title chase proved even tighter and will now go to a play off after Willington Market and Crook Queen's Head B both failed to break the deadlock at the top as both went into the last match level and both won by three points.

Crook Queen's Head B entertained Crook Coach and Horses B, who had singles wins from Mark Thexton and Peter Parkin. The Queen's went to victory with singles wins from Malcolm Gibson, Dave Heslop, Anthony Palin and Stephen Gibson with Dave Heslop and Malcolm Gibson adding the doubles.

Crook King's Head had a singles win from Kevin Carter and a doubles point from Carl Maddison with Carter, but the visiting Willington Market moved into a play off with singles wins from Sid Trow, Alan McAloon, John Blackett, Micky Toward and Gary Trow.

The three joint leaders all suffered odd point defeats but a win by Hunwick Club brought them within one point of the top teams. Hunwick Club entertained the title favourites from Willington Cottles A and were never headed as Paul Maddison and Robert Todd put them two up before Darren Perkins opened Cottles account. However Geoff Moore took the next to clinch victory but Joe Bone took what could be a vital last point for Cottles.

Joint leaders, Willington Brewer's Droop B went to Cottles B but never got into a lead and went down in the decider. Andrew Fleming put the home side ahead but Jimmy Flemming levelled. Barry Lauder restored Cottles lead only to see Vince Conaty equalise. In the decider Cottles Andrew Mains beat Bob Thompson.
