On Sunday Darlington Mowden Park Rugby Club in Yiewsley Drive is hosting regional girls' rugby between North East and the West Midlands and both Under-16 and U18 girls will be competing.
Anita Blackburn, Mowden Park's Under-16 Girls' secretary, said: "We are delighted the North-East has asked us to host one of their home games.
"It's a reflection of Mowden Park's increasing involvement in the development of girls' rugby and an acknowledgement of the success of our Under-16 Girls' team.
"Nine of our players, Abby Blackburn, Jenna Breakingbury, Ally Cull, Laura Collings, Amber Hyde, Nicola Jackson, Helen Grainge, Rosie Mangle, Ashleigh Wright, won places in the Under-16 North East of England squad and train in Newcastle with them every week.
"I expect a number of Mowden girls to be selected for the starting line up against the West Midlands and believe they will make an excellent contribution to what promises to be an exciting and highly competitive game."
The Under-16s kick off at 1.30pm and the Under 18s at 2pm, spectators are welcome and entry is free.
