Darlington manager Mick Tait's main concern ahead of Sunday's difficult trip to Wrexham is likely to be a replacement for leading scorer Barry Conlon.

The big target man, who scored his 12th goal of the season in last Saturday's 1-1 draw at Lincoln City, is serving a one-match suspension after being booked five times this season.

Quakers struggled to convert chances at Sincil Bank, so the absence of Conlon at the Racecourse Ground is a big blow and Tait's options are limited.

He is hoping that Matt Clarke, who made a good impression in one appearance up front before a freak accident at home left him with a badly injured hand, will be available again.

Danny Mellanby could also come into the reckoning, but is lacking match practice.

In contrast, competition for places in midfield is fierce. Neil Maddison staked a claim with a fine performance at Lincoln in only his second start under Tait, but Neil Wainwright is fit again after missing out with a hamstring injury.

Richard Hodgson - who had to settle for a place on the bench last weekend - Clark Keltie, Ashley Nicholls and Paul Campbell will also be in contention for a place, although Keltie is struggling with an ankle injury which forced him off in the first half at Lincoln.

Although a point away from home against a team pushing for a promotion place looks a good result, Quakers were disappointed to record their 14th draw of the season.

It was a battling performance against a strong outfit which relies heavily on the long ball game, but Darlington created enough chances to have taken all three points.

Conlon put them ahead with a calm finish midway through the first half, but the Imps were soon back on level terms through Ward.

Nicholls and Simon Betts missed good opportunities to restore Darlington's lead, while the defence coped well with Lincoln's attempts to bludgeon their way through.

Wrexham are another team in the hunt for promotion, but Quakers have already tasted victory in North Wales this season when they won 2-0 in the FA Cup.
