WEST Hartlepool are to rush former Premiership player Jamie Connolly back into their side for tomorrow's rearranged North Division One match at home to Darlington.

The powerful centre has just returned from visiting his family in New Zealand but will be asked to defy any jetlag because of the injury problems which forced West to play Mark Baggs at centre two weeks ago.

It is hoped that Allan Milne will have recovered from his hamstring strain to play alongside Connolly.

Henry Tones has gone on holiday to Bangkok with Darlington winger Frankie Coulson, so Paul Rudd will join Stuart Bennett and Tim Sawyer in West's back row.

Prop Carl Robinson returns after pulling a muscle in the warm-up before the defeat at Driffield two weeks ago.

Coach John Stabler will again start at fly half and will hope for a more disciplined performance than in the 48-0 defeat at Darlington, when both sides had a man sent off and West had three sin-binned.

Darlington Mowden Park might have to switch Chris Strong back to hooker for their National Three North match away to bottom club Scunthorpe.

He was doing well at No 2 until a shortage of backs forced him to revert to centre, but now Danny Brown is struggling with a shoulder problem.

Although he has played well at hooker in the last two games, Brown has been replaced for the last half hour by Matt Hall, who is now unavailable until the end of March because of exams.

Craig Newby, the New Zealander who played for Mowden at Blaydon two weeks ago, is ruled out by a shoulder injury picked up when he went on for the second half of Newcastle Falcons' match against The Cats last Friday.

Stockton visit Westoe in a rearranged North Two East match and retain winger Stuart Brown, who came in as a late replacement last week and scored a hat-trick against Scarborough.

Flanker Brett Wildridge returns but Alan Brown might have to work, so Andy Cowell stands by to play at No 8.

Mark Burrows continues at hooker as Danny Muirhead resumes after a three-week break with a game in the second team.
