Spennymoor are facing a gruelling ten-game spell in April after falling foul of the weather.

Moors' games at Stocksbridge and Alfreton have been postponed because of frost in the last week, and that has meant that they will be playing three games in the final week of the season, which ends on April 26.

Moors will go to Bishop Auckland on Easter Monday morning, then Stocksbridge on Thursday, April 24, and then play Witton at home two days later.

And Moors will also be playing every midweek between now and the end of the season, beginning with the home game against Guiseley on Tuesday.

Secretary Brian Boughen said: "Playing every Saturday and Tuesday isn't too bad, providing we don't get any more postponements. I'm confident that we'll get through it, providing we steer clear of injuries."

Bishop Auckland, meanwhile, have re-arranged their game at Stocksbridge for this Tuesday, but they have 15 games to play, seven less than Spennymoor.

Bishops have a tough game tomorrow at home to Alfreton, who are looking strong favourites to win promotion at the end of the season. They are currently nine points clear at the top.

Gateshead have asked the UniBond League if they can play their April home matches at Northern League South Shields as the athletics track is going to be re-laid during the spring.

The UniBond League is considering Gateshead's request, but the Northern League is sure to insist Shields' Second Division matches hold precedence.

Gateshead, meanwhile, will play Rossendale in the semi final of the League Cup after beating Alfreton last week. Ossett Town and Marine are in the other semi.

Whitby are playing two Sunday games later in the season.

They have arranged to travel to Runcorn on Sunday, March 9, then play Accrington Stanley at the Turnbull Ground on Sunday, April 6.
