Auckland and District EBAC Youth League

UCoundon & Leeholme Under-18s won 8-0 away to Newton Aycliffe on Saturday to go top of the Auckland and District EBAC Youth League.

Anthony Ross scored a hat trick, the other Coundon goals coming from Chris Stope (2), Anthony Ebdon, Karl Thompson and Dale Jardine.

Willington strengthened third place with a 2-0 success away to Barnard Castle, Martin Hopps scoring both goals in the second half.

Ferryhill, yet to record a league win, went down 2-0 away to improving Meadowfield. Andrew Graham gave the home side a first half lead with his eighth goal of the season. Scott Ogden clinched the points with a goal midway through the second half.

Rohm and Haas JOC Hetton Youth League

All sides were involved in the subsidiary cup and Herrington recorded the biggest win of the day when goals were plentiful.

They put eight past Sacriston who failed to reply. The tie was effectively settled by the half way stage when Herrington, who are still in contention for the championship lead 3-0. Kyle Dinsdale rifled four goals and others on target were Michael Fletcher, Mark Briggs, David Smith and Anthony Goodings.

Leaders Lumley won comfortably visiting Washington Dunlop. After establishing a 3-1 interval advantage they finished 5-1 in front. Substitute Dean Fox bagged a brace as did regular marksman John Lidster and Lumley's other scorer was Craig McManus.

Ryhope also struck scoring form in their home game with Hebburn, winning by four clear goals. All the goals were scored in the first period when Richard Hall hit a hat trick and Mark Eggleston also found the net.

The game between Jarrow St Bedes and Lampton Street was postponed.

New County North Durham Youth League

The weather once again played havoc with the programme. Frozen pitches meant that every fixture in the Under-15 division was called off and in the Under-17 section, just two games went ahead.

Leam Rangers consolidated pole position with a 6-2 against third from bottom Prudhoe. Nicky Langston rifled a hat trick and other goals flowed from Greg Urwin, Robert Houghton and Peter Fairless. Lee Pringle and Chris Henderson were on target for Prudhoe.

Montague celebrated their sixth win of the season defeating Swalwell by five clear goals. Mick Cruff bagged a brace and others on the mark were Stephen Shaw, Anthony Paterson and Steve Buzzeo.

Leam Rangers now have a six-point lead over Blackfyne, the clubs having played the same number of fixtures but Redheugh are also handily placed in third position. They have three games in hand on the two teams above them and are just three points adrift of Blackfyne and nine behind Leam Rangers.

At the bottom of the table, both Prudhoe and Swalwell failed to improve their placings. The pair, together with Wear Valley occupy the bottom three positions and all have three points although Prudhoe have played three games fewer than both Swalwell and Wear Valley.

Fairs Software Tyneside Junior League

Chester-le-Street consolidated pole position when they visited second from bottom Prudhoe and won 5-0. Paul McDonald bagged a brace and others on target were Michael Renshaw, Mark Rome and Stephen Davison.

Only one other game was played in the league and second from top Redheugh kept the pressure on the Cestrians with a 6-2 success over bottom of the table North Tyneside College.

Paul Jopling and Stephen Blench found the net for the college but the Reds ran out easy winners courtesy of goals from Chris Laws (2), David Jeffers, Ian Watson, Ken Boyle and Mark Heron.

Although Chester-le-Street enjoy a five-point lead over Redheugh at the top of the table, their rivals have two games in hand while at the bottom North Tyneside College are still minus 15 points after having 18 deducted for early season infringements. Whitley Bay too have suffered and they have had six points taken from their total, again for infringing the rules.

Apollo Doors Gateshead Youth League

Blackfyne closed the gap on top of the table Heworth and Low Fell when they defeated Consett 5-0. Chris Jennings bagged a brace of goals and Blackfyne are now just four points behind the leading pair. They have one game in hand on Heworth and have played two games fewer than Low Fell.

Redheugh consolidated fourth position with a 5-1 victory at Prudhoe. The Reds are four points adrift of Blackfyne and have played the same number of fixtures.

One tie was played in the Under-11 League Cup and Felling won a nine-goal thriller at Winlaton 5-4. Their hero was Andrew Chaters who scored four of his side's five goals while for Winlaton both Joss Banks and Lee Whitfield scored twice.

In the Under-12 Division, goals were plentiful with three sides scoring five times. Blackfyne put five goals past Whickham Fellside B whose two goals were credited to Eddie Miller. Andrew Ronaldson hit a hat trick for Blackfyne.

A brace of goals by Andrew Nevins was a feature of Cleveland Hall's 5-0 success at home to Blaydon and Whickham Fellside R also went nap at Leam Rangers G, who managed four goals before losing 5-4. Lewis McKay (3) and Kane Swaddle (2) were the marksmen for Whickham while Mark Paterson hit a couple of goals for Leam Rangers G.

Just one game was played in the Under-13 League Cup and Consett hammered Low Fell 8-0 while in the Under-14 League, only one fixture went ahead and Cleveland Hall celebrated their fourth win of the season defeating Felling 5-2.

Two games were possible at Under-15 level and Blaydon consolidated pole position with a 9-2 victory over Felling when Lee Craggs and Carl Peaker notched a couple of goals. Cleveland Hall are second, six points behind Blaydon, having played the same number of games. their latest success came at Ryton where they won 6-2. Keith Carson scored twice for Cleveland Hall as did Lee Farmer for Ryton.
