potential nurses are being invited to an education day at Northallerton on Wednesday.
The event, at the Friarage Hospital, is being held to attract people from the region who may be interested in taking up nursing as a career.
Visitors will get up-to-date information about the University of York's three-year full-time Diploma of Higher Education in Nursing Studies with a choice of four specialist nursing areas - adult, mental health, learning disability or child health.
There will be tutors, current students and NHS staff on hand to answer questions and give advice about applications, finance, student support and career development opportunities.
Half of the course involves practical experience in health and social care settings and applicants have to select their practice base - in Harrogate, Scarborough, Northallerton or York - when they apply.
The other half involves academic study at York University.
There are no tuition fees for the course and a non-means tested bursary is available.
The event starts at 2pm on Wednesday in the conference room at the Friarage Hospital. To book a place, contact (01904) 321392.
