The following cases were dealt with by Sedgefield magistrates sitting in Newton Aycliffe yesterday:

BOUND OVER: Janet Armstrong, 51, of Church Drive, Cockfield, has agreed to be bound over to keep the peace for three months after police were called to a disturbance in Cockfield on April 21 last year.

CASE ADJOURNED: The case against David Gibson, 55, of Scott Place, Newton Aycliffe, who denies damaging shutter locks belonging to Bells Stores, Newton Aycliffe, has been adjourned until March 28 for a pre-trial review.

GUILTY PLEAS: James Derek Robinson, 21, of Chestnut Avenue, Spennymoor, has admitted possessing 45 grams of cannabis resin and an amount of amphetamine. He had previously appeared at court to make an application to revoke a community service order. The case was adjourned until March 14 for pre-sentence reports.

CHARGE DENIED: Scott David Coates, 18, of Silverdale Place, Newton Aycliffe, has denied a charge of damaging the rear lights of a car. His case was adjourned until Friday, March 28, for a pre-trial review.

CASE ADJOURNED: The case against Aaron Anthony Green, 21, of Eldon Terrace, Ferryhill, has been adjourned until Friday, March 7. He is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm on January 20.

ASSAULT CHARGE: Robert Gray, 43, of Dennison Terrace, Ferryhill, has appeared in court charged with two counts of assault and one of threatening unlawful violence. His case was adjourned until Friday, March 7.
