A golden retriever has all the attributes to make the perfect guide dog - apart from a name.
North-East baker Warburtons has raised £2,500 for charity Guide Dogs For the Blind, to support the puppy through her first year of training to become a guide dog.
The firm wants to give the puppy a kennel name that reflects her sponsors and has turned to the public for help.
It is offering a stuffed puppy toy and a month's supply of free bread for the best name.
Gillian Bartram, food technologist at Warburtons in Newburn, Newcastle, said: "We fell in love with our adopted puppy the minute we set eyes on her, but none of us could agree on a name that really did her justice.
"So we decided to ask people across our North-East trading area to help out."
Entries can be sent to Warburtons Give A Dog A Name competition, 26-28 Shelley Road, Newburn Industrial Estate, Newcastle NE15 9RT, before Friday
