THE trial of a man charged with the murder of a market trader is to be held at Newcastle Crown Court.
Jonathan Crossling, 37, of Hillside Avenue, Grove Hill, Middlesbrough, appeared before Teesside Crown Court yesterday, where he spoke only to confirm his identity.
Mr Crossling who is charged with murdering Kalvant Singh on August 6 last year also faces further charges of wounding with intent and aggravated burglary arising out of the same incident.
Defence Counsel Tom Bayliss said all the charges would be contested.
The Recorder of Middlesbrough, Judge Peter Fox QC told Mr Crossling that his trial would be held at Newcastle Crown Court before a High Court Judge.
Mr Crossling was remanded in custody.
