FOURTEEN youngsters have formed a council at their school in Northallerton.
Two pupils from each year group at Applegarth School have been elected as members of the school council.
They will meet every couple of weeks with a teacher in attendance and elections will take place annually.
"The idea is to give the children a voice," said headteacher Al Procter.
"It is important for the children to have a say in what affects them. In this way they can help and benefit their classmates."
