A LUXURY mansion complete with indoor swimming pool is up for grabs for just £25 a week.

The 30-room Tunstall Court, one of Hartlepool's plushest buildings, is being offered as a high-class pad by a property management company.

Hartlepool Borough Council owns the former adult training centre and hit upon the idea of getting "guardians" in to look after the property until its long-term future can be secured.

Tunstall Court, attractively situated on the edge of the West Park area of Hartlepool, is being offered for rent at the bargain fee of £100 a month per person, which includes all bills and council tax.

Between six and nine lucky tenants will get to spend the next year as its residents, while the longer term use of the building is decided upon.

Camelot Property Management has been assigned to look after the vacant building and it is vetting potential housesitters.

Christopher Okpa, Camelot's business development manager, said: "Whoever came in would be a guardian for the building and would have to live there. They would care for the property and if there is any emergency then they would call us or the emergency services.

"We contacted Hartlepool council who said it was empty and they were happy for us to manage it while it was empty. We would looking for someone to be in there for at least a year."

Tunstall Court, which closed as a council facility last year, had been owned by the council since 1948, but was costing the authority £165,000 a year to keep open.
