POLICE are to step up a big crackdown on unruly youngsters after receiving overwhelming public support for the campaign.
The Darlington force is adopting a zero tolerance approach to the escalating problem in parts of the town.
Drunken teenagers have been abusing passers-by, fighting and causing damage in the North Road and Thompson Street East areas of the town.
Parents have already been warned that they could face action if their child is charged with any offence.
A police spokesman said yesterday: "The feedback from the general public has been very encouraging and it is a matter that we will definitely be taking forward."
