YOUNG people tried their hand at sports and arts events at a youth support group's open day.
The Durham Connexions youth centre held PlayStation games competitions, tile and T-shirt painting and other art workshops throughout the day at their recently opened offices in Millennium Place, Durham.
Students from Durham Johnston School staged taekwando demonstrations, while others tried out exercise machines.
Connexions was formerly known as the Careers Service but last year relaunched and moved from North Road, in Durham. It aims to bring together experts who can help 13 to 19-year-olds with any problems they are likely to face, such as low self-esteem and homelessness.
Manager Alan Lockyear said the aim of the event was to let young people know the services on offer.
