A pensioner bagged almost £350 worth of groceries after winning a trolley dash at her local supermarket.
But Amy Craggs, 93, had to enlist the help of several members of staff and her granddaughter, Angela Dodds, in order to complete the supermarket sweep.
Mrs Craggs won the prize in a raffle organised by Asda, in Whinbush Way, Darlington, to raise money for Red Hall Primary School.
"I bought a couple of tickets and never thought anymore about it," she said.
"I certainly didn't expect to win.
"It was marvellous. I have never been so pampered in my life. Lots of people helped to do the dash - I would have had a job doing it myself."
Staff at the store discovered that Mrs Craggs, of Sadberge, will celebrate her 94th birthday tomorrow, so they also gave her a cake and flowers.
"She was absolutely over the moon," said staff member Jane Chapman. "She was a lovely lady and thoroughly deserved the treat."
