POLICE have named a man they want to speak to in connection with a firearm incident in which a woman was wounded.
A Northumbria police spokesman said a gun was fired through the floor of a semi-detached house in Holborn Road, Sunderland, at 2am on Saturday.
A 22-year-old woman, who was in the room below, was released from hospital after being treated for an injury to her head and shoulder.
Police want to speak to Ian David Cuthbertson, 27 of Holborn Road, Sunderland. It is believed he may have left the area, and police have warned members of the public not to approach him.
Detective Sergeant Colin McCrudden said: "We need to speak to this man at the earliest opportunity.
"The public are warned they should not approach him in any way, but should contact us immediately with information of his whereabouts."
