INDUSTRY experts have shown bosses of small firms that health and safety is not a luxury and can give them a competitive edge.
More than 80 small businesses attended the Safety and Health Awareness Day, organised by the Health and Safety Executive and held in Gateshead International Stadium.
It was based around a "carousel" of seven scenarios, each full of dos and don'ts in the workplace.
