Darlington go into tomorrow's Feethams derby clash with Division Three leaders Hartlepool United on the back of a battling 0-0 draw at in-form Wrexham last Sunday.
Although the result - their 15th stalemate of the season - means Quakers have now gone six games without a win, they did well to leave the Racecourse Ground with a point against a team very much in the hunt for automatic promotion.
But the game again showed that a lack of quality up front has prevented Mick Tait's men from mounting any kind of a bid for a promotion play-off place.
With leading scorer Barry Conlon serving a one-match suspension, central defender Matt Clarke returned from injury to lead the line.
It was Ian Clark's turn to sit on the bench as Richard Hodgson also returned to the starting line-up, along with former Robins winger Neil Wainwright, who had recovered from a hamstring injury.
But most of the action was at the other end of the pitch, with Ryan Valentine clearing one effort off the line and Andy Collett making several decent saves.
Quakers are sure to be fired up to take revenge for their 4-1 defeat at Victoria Park last September, but may be without central defender Stuart Whitehead, who damaged ankle ligaments against Wrexham.
Darlington then face a second local derby with the visit of York City - yet another side involved in the scramble for promotion places - on Tuesday night.
