THE Richmond Motor Club always attract a good entry for their events and Sunday was no exception when they had 173 riders for their closed to club trial at Parkgate Farm, Wensley.
This was despite the fact that the event was only for clubmen, youth classes and TY80s. The clubmen's course went over three laps of 14 sections of typical Dales territory, which started with a climb over limestone rock steps with a tight left-hand turn and a drop back down.
James Percival, who took the win on the green course, went clean, as did Toribjorn Eyre and Nick Platt, all riding Gas Gas.
The A-class riders Gavin Lowther (Gas Gas) and Adam Hague (Sherco) parted with just one here.
The overall winner on the clubmen's course was Greg Porter, best of the over 40s, who dropped just one mark on his Montesa. He was closely followed by Ray Sharp on a Sherco, who dropped three.
In the twin shock class, Michael Jackson (Bultaco) took the class by a margin of four from David Watson (Royal Enfield).
The TY80s had their owe five-lap, ten-section course and Richard Fraser took the win on the hard route by a margin of five from Don Morley, with Jamie Kendrew a further four marks down.
On the easy course it was Jack Stones who won comfortably from Ben Chicken, who just three ahead of Harriet Peacock.
