A NEW village police officer is hoping to reach more residents, with the launch of an advice surgery.
PC Kevin Kilkenny has taken over the role of beat officer, at Leadgate, near Stanley, and he is keen to hear about villagers' crime and disorder concerns.
He said: "This is a great opportunity for me to meet people on my beat.
"It is also a real chance for residents to sit down with their local officer and air any problems they might have."
The surgeries will be held in Leadgate Community Centre, on Thursdays, starting next week, from noon to 2pm and between 5pm and 6pm.
