AN eight-year-old girl will be cooking up a treat with a host of kitchen gadgets she won in a national competition.
Vicky Anne Louise Chamberlain, of Bear Park, near Durham, won a colouring contest run by Tate and Lyle through Leathley's Quality Fare supermarket, in Willington.
Vicky beat over 100 children to the first prize which included a signed Gary Rhodes cookery book, a junior chef's hat and apron and a food processor and blender.
Area manager Lee Archer, of Leathley's Quality Fare, said: "We are all in favour of any initiative that encourages children to express their creativity."
