MEMBERS of a pioneering initiative to increase the options available to disabled people are about to scale new heights.
The Options Disability Initiative, based at the Pioneering Care Centre, is holding a sponsored climb at Rock Antics, in Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre, on Monday, from 10am.
A group of eight disabled and non-disabled members and volunteers will climb 690ft, the equivalent height of the HSBC Bank head office tower.
All proceeds will be used to fund future climbing sessions for members of the project.
The Options initiative, which was established three years ago, provides a variety of social, leisure and educational opportunities for disabled people.
Anyone interested in sponsoring the group, or who would like more information, can contact Karen Cole on (01325) 321234, Minicom (01325) 313133.
