MORE former Army homes are to go up for sale at knockdown prices.
Annington Homes has spent hundreds of thousands of pounds upgrading the properties at Catterick Garrison, in North Yorkshire.
The agreement with the Ministry of Defence is that at least half the homes have to be sold to families with a services connection.
After that, they are open to all on a first-come-first served basis - and a dozen people are already camping outside the sales office to be sure they clinch a deal next Friday.
Prices for the three-bedroomed homes start at about £58,000.
Annington's regional sales manager, Anita Brown, said: "We're seeing more people turning up each day. For many, this is a unique opportunity to get themselves on to the property ladder and at a time when this is proving harder to do."
