A DISABLED pensioner who died after a fire at her home was named by police yesterday as Ellen Hamilton.
The body of the 67-year-old woman was found by a care worker on Sunday morning, at her flat, in Barden Moor Road, Firthmoor, Darlington.
Police said yesterday they were still working with the fire brigade to discover the cause of the blaze in the living room.
"We are keeping an open mind but it does not appear suspicious," said a police spokesman.
A post-mortem examination will take place today.
Anyone who was in the Barden Moor Road area, between 10pm on Saturday and 8am on Sunday, is asked to contact police on (01325) 742155.
