PREPARATIONS are well under way for the second annual show of the Darlington and District Orchid Society.
Top nurseries, including Mansell and Hatcher of Rawdon, near Leeds, and Ray Creek Orchids of Scunthorpe, will be at the show at the White Horse Hotel in Darlington at the weekend.
Mr Creek joined the society last year after speaking at one of the meetings two years ago.
He was so impressed with the group that he signed up and now travels to the monthly meetings from his home in North-East Lincolnshire.
Paintings and greetings cards by another society member, Janet Orme, will also be on show and available for sale.
Anyone who would like to learn more about orchids, see the exhibits or buy any of the flowers can attend the show between 11am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
