MORE than 80 youngsters have been proving there is more to school than just maths and English.
Youngsters from Sowerby Community Primary School joined forces with the Royal British Legion training band for a concert at the school.
Parents and others were treated to a varied programme of music, song and dance, varying from orchestral to swing.
"The idea was to make people aware that music is an important part of school life," said organiser Debbie Whitfield.
"In some people's minds it takes a back seat on the curriculum and we were reminding people about what it is and what it can do."
