Relegation-threatened Darlington make the difficult trip to fellow strugglers Boston tonight with caretaker boss Mick Tait insisting they must learn from their mistakes or face the consequences.

Quakers are just five points above this evening's opponents with nine games to go. And Tait is keen to avoid a repeat of the first-half showing against Exeter as his side hover above the drop zone.

"We've got to learn from the game on Saturday," said Tait, whose team take on a Boston side that lost 1-0 to Rochdale on Saturday.

"If we're nervy and let the opposition dictate the pace of the game then we'll struggle. Exeter came and killed the game off, took the sting out of the game and it didn't suit us at all.

"I didn't expect them to pinch a goal like they did because I didn't think they had enough attacking options. When they did get a goal that made it harder for us."

Tait is hoping his side continue where they left off after a much-improved display against the Grecians after the restart.

"If we can get at them like we did against Exeter in the second half then there's no reason why we can't go down there and get a good result," said Tait.

"We finished the game against Exeter very strongly but we didn't take our chances."

Boston have proved a hard team to beat at home this season with just five defeats at York Street.

However, Tait remains more concerned with the form of his own team. "They've had some good results at home, but it doesn't matter to us," said Tait.

"We've got to go there, set our stall out and decide how we want to play and have a go at them."

Striker Danny Mellanby should get the nod ahead of Jim Corbett after his two-goal blast at the weekend.

On-loan forward Corbett, who impressed after coming on as a second half substitute during Saturday's 2-2 draw, may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Mark Sheeran will be out for a couple of weeks after twisting his ankle during Monday night's reserve win at Scarborough.

Stuart Whitehead is still struggling with an ankle injury.
