FORMER boxing favourite Frank Bruno will turn DJ next week when he takes to the decks at the North-East's floating nightclub.

The ex-world heavyweight champion will show his new-found disc-jockeying skills at the Tuxedo Princess, berthed at Gateshead Quays, on Friday night. Arriving on "the boat" shortly before midnight, he will be signing autographs before doing his DJ-stint.

TREE FELLING: Derwentside District Council has been asked to grant permission for two oak, one sycamore, three ash and three horse chestnut trees to be felled, and a horse chestnut tree to be pruned, at Allerdene House, Cadger Bank, Lanchester.

HOSPICE SALE: St Cuthbert's Hospice, in Durham, will hold a coffee morning and sale of books, jewellery, bric-a-brac and homemade produce, next Saturday, from 10am to noon. Admission is 50p.
