ALE drinkers will be taking a tipple or two during the Spring Thing folk music festival.
The Darlington branch of The Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) has organised a beer festival in conjunction with the folk festival and is hoping to sell about 4,000 pints over the weekend.
Among the 45 real ales on sale will be Liquid Lobotomy brewed in East Yorkshire and Baa-Chanalia from Cumbria. There will also be beers from Durham, Hambleton and Tyneside and a limited edition beer will be launched called Feethams Farewell.
Darlington Camra chairman Ian Jackson said: "We have scoured Britain for interesting and rare beers from some of the best craft brewers around. There will be tastes and names to tackle the palate and imagination."
The beer festival opens tonight (Thursday 27th) from 7pm until 11pm, on Friday from noon until 3pm and 6pm until 11.30pm and on Saturday, 11.30am until 11.30pm.
