At home to Darlington RA in the Women's Northern League Division One, Chester-le-Street dominated from start to finish and could have scored more.

Ashley Scott, Vikki Ryder, Rachel Weightman, Suzy Falconer and Rachel Furness all had chances before Ryder converted a penalty, awarded for a foul on Furness on the stroke of half time.

The second half saw constant pressure and lovely controlled football from the young Cestrians and chances came for Kelly Binns, Anne Marie Purvis, Scott, Ryder, Furness and Falconer but only Rachel Weightman found the net.

After last week's setback at East Durham it was important to get back to winning ways and an impressive Chester defence and keeper Alison Beale did all that was required of them.

This week Chester-le-Street entertain Marton at Moor Park (2pm). All are welcome.
