MORE than 50 jobs have been created refurbishing homes on Teesside and Wearside.

Lovell Partnerships' Stockton office will take on staff to tackle renovation projects in Sunderland - carrying out a mixture of interior and exterior work - and providing new kitchens for houses in Stockton.

The work on Wearside is being carried out for Sunderland Housing Group and on Teesside for Tristar Homes, which now manages the former Stockton Borough Council housing stock.

Lovell Partnerships, market leaders in the refurbishment and development of affordable mixed tenure housing, set up their office in Stockton about a year ago.

Albert Bowes, Lovell manager of operations in the North-East, said: " We are delighted that the work we have been carrying out for Sunderland Housing Group and Tristar Homes has had such a positive effect on employment in the area."

In Stockton, Lovell Partnerships has fitted nearly 1,000 kitchens to properties.

Much of the work done for Sunderland Housing Group has involved providing new kitchens, bathrooms, doors, and rewiring properties between 50 and 70 years old.
