PRIMARY School youngsters have recorded their own compact disc after spending a week looking at music from different cultures.
It is hoped that the CD will be a lasting keepsake for children at Howden-le-Wear Primary School.
It is a culmination of the work that the school has done with professional musician Richard Scott, from Four Corners Music Workshop, in Newcastle.
The week-long session has explored music from around the world, including Asian, Calypso, African and American rhythms. It was funded by a £1500 innovation grant.
Headteacher Val McCourt said the musical event had been a fantastic experience for the youngsters.
She said: "We have just done a little concert for parents using a sample of some of the music we have done. We recorded it on Friday.
"It has been a very worthwhile project. All the staff have mucked in and everybody has enjoyed the experience."
