THOUSANDS of pounds can be unlocked for community facilities in a Yorkshire dale after planners agreed to a redundant Methodist church being converted into a detached house.
Money from the sale of Shaw Mills Methodist Church, near Pateley Bridge, will go towards Pateley Bridge Methodist Circuit's £300,000 Open Doors project.
It will provide a range of community facilities serving the whole of Nidderdale.
