MUSEUM chiefs were overseeing a major move yesterday - as plans to bring a renowned steam locomotive to Darlington began in earnest.
Four exhibits were being removed from the town's North Road railway museum to make way for Blue Peter, one of the country's most famous names from the golden age of steam.
Blue Peter is on its way to the town to form a centrepiece exhibition this Easter.
The borough council and local haulage company GCS Johnson are due to transport the engine from its base on the North York Moors to Darlington by Wednesday.
