A museum is preparing for one of the most popular events in its calendar.
Beamish Museum, near Stanley, County Durham, will stage the History of Meccano exhibition this weekend.
Models on display will include a working version of Matilda, one of the house robots from the BBC's hit TV series, Robot Wars. More traditional exhibits include model trams, buses and agricultural vehicles made from Meccano sets up to 100 years old.
Organised by the North East Meccano Society, the exhibition takes place on Saturday and Sunday. For further details, contact the museum on 0191-370 4000.
