The North Tyneside Open Sprint Gala took place at Killingworth on Saturday and Sunday 29 and 30 March 2003.
Sedgefield 75 had six swimmers taking part - they were Michael Scott, Andrew Dewar, Chloe Oliver, Rebecca Aughton, Cara Lawson and Rebecca Hailes.
Everyone swam well and achieved new best times but it was the youngest member, Rebecca Hailes, who produced the gold medal swims.
She took gold in the 50m Backstroke and the 50m Freestyle as well as taking silver honours in the 50m Butterfly.
Chloe was sixth in the 100m Butterfly and took the bronze medals in the 100m Breaststroke and the 100m Backstroke. Her 100m freestyle swim gave her fifth place.
Michael was placed fourth and fifth in the 100 and 50m Breaststroke.
Andrew gained fifth and seventh place in the 50 and 100 Backstroke and sixth in the 100m Freestyle and seventh in the 50.
It was an enjoyable gala and well worth the trip north of the Tyne.
