Shildon Railway's 3-0 win away to Birtley Town Reserves keeps them in contention for the championship. Doug Grant was the destroyer getting all three goals.

Whitehill FC maintained their five point lead at the top with a 4-1 home win against Belford House. They were in front when Gary Robson notched but Belford were level when Stuart Burn scored with a cracking 35-yard free kick. In the second half Whitehill pressed all the way and were rewarded when Michael Pitt latched onto a cross from Tony Embleton. Pitt went on to grab a hat-trick.

In an evenly-balanced encounter Durham Victoria Bridge went down 1-0 at home to Seaham Mallard, the only goal scored by Thomas Fletcher.

Coxhoe Athletic were pleased to have top scorer Alan Tolley playing after an injury. He scored a hat-trick in the first half against Ebchester FC. David Hutchinson and a couple from Scott Richards gave Coxhoe a 6-0 win.

Seaham The Duke went down 3-2 at home to Cockfield FC. Scott Burns scored the only goal of the first half with a 35-yard chip. Only eight seconds into the second half Anthony White had Cockfield level, who then went in front with a Stephen Rodgers goal. Martin Taylor put The Duke Level before John Myers sealed it for Cockfield.

Two goals from Neil Middlemiss and another from Paul Moat gave Sporting Club Sunderland a 3-2 win against Simonside SC whose goals were scored by David Basham and Gavin Burns.

Teeside Arriva's persistence earned them a place in the final of the Washington Aged Peoples Trophy. Their opponents Hartlepool Town were winning 1-0 with a Paul Doughty goal until Kevin Orton equalised in injury time, then went on to win the a penalty shootout 4-3.

Spennymoor Black & Decker are through to the final of the Washington Aged Peoples Trophy. They beat Brandon Station by the only goal, David Torr heading home. Spennymoor Black & Decker now meet Teeside Arriva in the final.
