Crawley brought the King's Head back into the game with a second goal 20 minutes from time but with 15 minutes left on the watch, Dean Henderson Thynne secured the points for Stokesley.

Black Horse 1 v 6 Bull's Head: The Black Horse turned in a fine first half performance that kept North Skelton down to just the one goal at the interval. The second period however saw the Bulls take control with goals coming at regular intervals. North Skelton 0 v 2 M'brough PO 2: Two first half goals settled this contest with the Post Office breaching the North Skelton defence with two set pieces. Paul Davies found Michael Youll with pin point free kicks and the Post Office player headed home giving the keeper no chance with both efforts.

Redcar CO 1 v 5 St. Mary's Coll. OB: St. Mary's College retained top spot with a brilliant first half performance that sw them race into a five goal lead. Coke Ovens faired slightly better in the second half giving the scoreline a semblance of respectability when Graham Watson got his name on the scoresheet. Despite failing to add to their first half goal rush, the College continued to turn in an outstanding performance with good interplay and passing that Coke Ovens found difficult to contain.

South Bank Utd. 3 v 0 Ennis Square: United broke the deadlock when Peter Truscott rounded the keeper after latching on to John Webster's cross. There was little between the sides in the second half but a thundering 40-yard drive from Mark Jahan put United in the driving seat. Ten minutes from time, Gary Naylor crossed for Dave Truscott who made sure of the points.

Stock. Elementis 4 v 0 Coulby N'ham: Elementis bounced back from their Arthur Reed semi-final defeat to produce a match winning performance against Coulby Newham. The Grenadier 0 v 3 Woodman's Arms: The Woodmans made it four wins out of four although they wasted a succession of good opportunities before Geoff Maloney gave them the lead on 20 minutes. Steve Sherrington lifted the ball over the Grenadier keeper for goal number two following good work from Andy Parkes and the Woodamn's striker might well have scored his second early in the second when Steve Marshall was brought down in the area. Sherrington however was denied by a fine save but he made amends minutes later when his inch perfect centre was headed home by Maloney.

Thornaby Man. 6 v 2 Thornaby Vill.: THE Village struck first with a 25-yard shot but Mandale hit back when Gary Walsh equalised and by half time they led thanks to a goal from Steve Lambert. North Riding Saturday Challenge Cup Final - Thornaby Man. 3 v 1 Richmond Mav.: Thornaby Mandale became the first team in the 40-year history of the Stokesley and District League to win the North Riding Trophy. They overcame a very good Mavericks side that kept Mandale on their toes throughout the 90 minutes as they defended the title that they won last year. Using the full width of the Northallerton Town pitch, Mavericks created early problems for the Mandale defence but they held their ground and with just eight minutes gone, Mandale took the lead when Steve Lambert headed down for Andrew Dyson to beat the maverick's keeper from close range. Only minutes later it was 2-0 after Lambert lobbed the keeper from all of 30 yards out. Mandale had chances to add to their score but Mavericks came back into the game shortly before the break when Mark Fleetwood fired high into the roof of the net. The second half saw Mavericks having the better of the exchanges but for the most part, they were kept at bay by an outstanding Mandale defence with Dave and Steve Baker in particular catching the eye. On those occasions when they did find a way through, Gary Poole in the Mandale goal was on hand to cope with the Maverick's attempts on goal. The later the game went on, Mandale , with John Gittens beginning to get the better of the midfield, began to push forward more and in the dying seconds, Dyson laid the ball off to the unmarked Bradley Murray who put the result beyond doubt with a clinical finish.
