Crook light welter weight professional boxer Nigel Wright made a winning comeback after injury when he beat Darren Melville from London on points at Portsmouth last Saturday.
This was Wright's first fight for six months after broken bones in both of his hands forced a layoff.
He was a little ring rusty but his opponent Melville was rated tenth in the British Light Welterweight division and a 58-57 points decision was no mean feat for the Crook boxer in what turned out to be a tough fight.
Wright had trained hard for two months but his original opponent had to stand down so they took the fight at short notice. His next fight will be in May with the venue undecided at the moment.
