A DESIGN student has won a national award for her work on a children's bed.
Northumbria University student Jenna Mattinson, 21, worked with Silentnight Beds on its student placement scheme.
She was one of the team behind the company's My First Bed range, which has won best new product at the national Furniture Awards.
Mark Bailey, senior lecturer at the university's Design for Industry department, said: "Jenna has a great, creative mind and a tenacity to see projects through to completion.
"It is quite rare for undergraduates to see their student designs go into production, so Jenna is to be applauded."
