After last week's hard game to win the County Cup, Mowden thirds faced another tough game against Acklam 2nds, but impressive fitness showed and they achieved a 29-5 win.
Twenty-five into the game saw Andrew Tonkin break through the Acklam defence to score a good individual try, and he repeated it with a similar effort just before the break, Brian Riley converting.
Chris Carr scored a converted try but Acklam replied from the restart then Mowden won a lineout on Acklam's 5m line, prop Michael Davison diving over. The final minutes of the game saw a Mowden scrum on their own 10m lineend in a Steve Merrifield try
