Blackfyne moved into second position just a point behind leaders Heworth when they hammered Prudhoe 9-0. Most of the goals were scored by Connor Cruddace (4) and Chris Jennings (2).

In other games Beamish edged Leam Rangers 3-2, Winlaton and Redheugh drew 1-1 while Hebburn Reyrolle and Consett were involved in a goalless draw.

Heworth, meanwhile, were engaged in the semi-final of the league cup and romped home defeating Felling Magpies 5-1. Both Craig Taylor and Anthony Chilton scored twice.

In the Under-12 section leaders Leam Rangers Y were held to a 1-1 draw at Beamish.

Whickham Fellside R produced the biggest score of the day when they put six goals past Winlaton, who managed just one in reply.

Low Fell won 4-0 at Swalwell, Redheugh defeated Blaydon 3-1 while Whickham Fellside B and Cleveland Hall drew 2-2.

Two ties were played in the Under-12 league cup and there were wins for Chopwell and Blackfyne. Lee Best scored two of the three Chopwell goals at Consett, while Danny Walker and Stephen Shaw were other players to find the net on a couple of occasions, as Blackfyne defeated Leam Rangers G 7-1.

In the Under-13 league cup Redheugh won 2-0 at Leam Rangers and in the Subsidiary Cup Cleveland Hall hammered Low Fell C 9-1 with Jamie Huggin scoring four times.

Winlaton were also in scoring form in their home tie with Blaydon ending 5-1 winners. Chris Dunn and Gary Kelly both bagged a brace of goals.

It is neck and neck in the Under-14 division with Blackfyne and Redheugh both on 39 points. The Reds, however, enjoy a game in hand on Blackfyne.

Blackfyne crashed to a 6-1 defeat against fourth from top Whickham Glebe for whom Michael Banks scored four times.

Redheugh made up ground on Blackfyne when they won 7-0 at bottom of the table Cooperhall when Daniel Morrissey scored three of his team's goals. Leam Rangers put six goals into the Felling Magpies net who managed just two in reply. Craig Malloy (4) and Daryl Iveson (2) shared the Leam Rangers' goals. In the other game Cleveland Hall won 2-1 at Consett.

Blaydon have an eight points lead over Cleveland Hall in the Under-15 division after defeating Blackfyne 2-1. Cleveland Hall maintained their challenge for the championship with a 3-0 success over Redheugh, while Felling Magpies finished 4-1 ahead of Stocksfield when Callum Burn scored all four goals. Leam Rangers won 5-2 over Ryton and Beamish visited Consett where they collected the points with a 3-1 scoreline.
