Crook Ladies League: Tow Law Black Horse produced the shock result of the Second Round of the League Knock Out Cup when they beat the visiting Tow Law New Market, who had tied for the runners-up spot in the table, by five points. The Horse took the singles at 4-2 and then added the doubles at 2-1 before completing a great victory by winning the double points team game.

The leading individual scorers were Lena Heslop (Jelly's A) 153, Dawn Harrison (Queen's A) 140, Jay Jordan (Cattle Mart) 140, Pam Barron (Jelly's B) 138, Jacqueline Baker and Christine Marley (New Market B) 135 each; Mary Maughan 134 and Deborah Stephenson 120 (New Market A), Mary Crossling (Crook Belle Vue) 125 and Shirley Hind (Tow Law Black Horse) 120.

Wear Valley Ladies League

Most darts players like to hear the 180 cry but for Freda Brown of Oakenshaw the joyous shout is for 171 as she always goes for the treble nineteens. She was delighted to hear the cry in the home game against Howden Sunnydene Lodge. The other leading scorers were Margaret Storey of the Coach and Horses with 140, Emma Fleming 134 and 124 and Diane Fleming 134 for the Brewer's Droop, Leslie Bolam 134 for the Quarry, Tracy Thompson 132 for the Royal Sun and Nadine Maddison 121 for Sunnydene Lodge. Carol Haygarth of the Royal Sun made the best check-out of the week with 94.

Crook Royal Sun extended their lead at the top to 13 points with Crook Mill House 5 ahead of the Crook Golden Fleece, who have a match in hand.

Crook League

The domino section knockout was held at the Old Horseshoe thanks to sponsorship from tenants Dave and Lesley Leighton.

The Green beat Queens Head 4-1 in the final after 21 teams had taken part.

On the way to the final The Green beat White Swan 3-2 in a preliminary round, Royal George 3-2, RAFA 3-2 and Sunnydene Lodge 3-1.

Queens Head had victories over Belle Vue 3-2, Golden Fleece 3-2 and Cricket Club 3-1.

The qualifying stage of the Darts Pairs Championship was held at four venues with two pairs going through to the play-offs at Willington Black Horse Inn. From Willington Cottles the qualifiers were Gordon Foster with Lyndon Taylor and Michael Richardson with John Barron.

The qualifiers from Willington Black Horse Tavern were Joe Blakey with Scott Liddle and Paul Morris with John Peacock. The qualifiers from Willington Lion and Unicorn were Lenny Glasper with Pat Swain and David Alderson with John Mason.
