Rohm and Haas Hetton JOC Youth League: Herrington will play Jarrow St Bedes in the final of the Palmer Cup. Herrington defeated leaders Lumley 3-2 in the semi-final following an exciting tie which was only settled in extra time.

The visitors led 2-1 at the interval with goals by Robbie Houghton and Craig Ellison, while Simon Dolman replied for the Cestrians.

When Craig McManus levelled the scores, additional time was needed and during the second period Houghton scored the vital winning goal for Herrington.

In the other semi-final Jarrow St Bedes led Washington Dunlop 2-0 at the interval.

During the second half the South Tyneside outfit defended well and there were no further goals. Paul Burrell and Jonathan Mullen were the first half scorers for Jarrow.

In the league Lambton Street and Hebburn were involved in an exciting 3-3 draw.

Scott Binns (2) and Craig Dowell netted for the Wearsiders with Chris Rigg, Mark McShane and Rob Welsh replying for Hebburn.
