Councillor John Fletcher has promised to continue to press for a new footpath to the industrial park entrance in Durham Lane, Eaglescliffe.

He said with more housing beyond Allen's West, and the Oakwood Centre having become popular for events involving schoolchildren, it is more urgent than ever that a footpath be constructed.

BETTER FACILITIES: Hartlepool Borough Council has received a planning application from the town's High Tunstall Comprehensive School to build a sports hall with gym, changing facilities and teaching area.

BUILDING PLAN: A planning application to build three houses with garages has been submitted to Hartlepool Borough Council. The houses would be built on land at the back of Hart Farm in Hart Village.
