Newcastle's allotments are to get a £90,000 revamp.
Two-thirds of the cash will come from the Allotments Regeneration Initiative which is funded by the Esme Fairbairn Foundation. The city council will provide the rest.
The grant will support plot clearance, training, biodiversity, enhancement, publicity and support.
