Witton Gilbert WI : THE meeting which took place on Monday, March 10, was attended by 38 members and two visitors.
Bob Anderson gave a very interesting illustrated talk about the Karen people of Burma who stayed loyal to Britain in World War Two.
The competition for a peg bag was won by Doreen Bilton followed by Jean Geddes and Jan Beckworth. Door prize was won by Sheila Browbank.
The group meeting will be hosted by Witton Gilbert WI on Monday, April 7. Speaker Professor J. Knapton will be Taking a Red Bus to Ghana.
Next meeting will be Monday, April 14, at 7pm Cooper Hall when the speaker will be from Findlays Finds (Antiques). Visitors are very welcome. For details contact Jean Geddes on (0191) 371 0237.
