A PROGRAMME of headline acts has been announced for a music festival in York.
York Live Music Festival 2003, held during May, will incorporate a range of musical talents and sounds.
International Septet, Joan Armatrading, Shed Seven, John Kirkpatrick and Blazin Fiddles, are all booked to appear.
Wesley Zepherin, City of York Council's arts officer, said: "This year's festival will build on the fantastic success we have had in the past three years. We have pulled together a wealth of activity under the banner of York Music Live and have got some brilliant headline acts."
The highlights will include a performance of one of the most beautiful and complex forms of Chinese music - Uyghur - on Sunday, May 4, and a presentation of Javanese shadow puppet theatre by the University of York Gamelan Orchestra on Saturday, May 10.
Full details of the events are available at council offices and leisure centres, or on www.york.gov.uk/whatson
