A WALL of decorative ceramic tiles has been unveiled at a Ferryhill school.

The project involved schoolchildren from Ferryhill Comprehensive working with an artist as part of a bridging project.

Judy Caplin, who is attached to Sedgefield Borough Council, first worked with the children when they were in their last year of primary school.

She returned to complete the project with the same pupils, now in year seven.

The children designed, made and fired their own tiles, which were on the theme of buildings.

The tiles are now part of a permanent display in the school playground.
