A MAN had to be taken to hospital with minor injuries after he lost control of his car and crashed into a lamp-post on Port Clarence Road, High Clarence, at about 4am yesterday.

He was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton.

TOWN TALK: A talk on Redcar personalities will be given by Vera Robinson on Tuesday, to raise money for the Redcar Town Clock Appeal. Mrs Robinson will discuss famous scientists, authors and benefactors from the town. The event will be at Redcar Library at 7pm. Admission is £1.

NEW RESTAURANT: Stockton Borough Council has received a planning application from Mandale Commercial to change 26-28 Dovecot Street into a restaurant and bar with take-away facilities.
